According to Rolling Stone, a Gorillaz performance at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark last night had to be cut short after Del The Funky Homosapien fell off the stage during one of his rap verses on “Clint Eastwood.” The song came at the end of the planned set, and after it became clear that Del had been injured in the fall, Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn cut off the music and thanked the crowd for a “beautiful, beautiful night,” adding, “unfortunately, we’ve had a… I don’t know yet.”
Roskilde released a statement confirming Del’s fall, saying in a translated statement, “He was seen on site by a doctor and went to the hospital for further investigation. He’s conscious and talking to his team.” Del The Funky Homosapien has also since tweeted about the accident, saying he’s “doing alright” but that he’ll still “be in the hospital for a bit.”
