Gossip beats election news (by some measures)

As the Gawker Media blogs and Technorati are clearly the two things that tell us what cool people are thinking about at all times, recent indicators suggest that said people are thinking more about gossip items than they are about today's elections.

Idolator displays a screen grab indicating that a story about Britney Spears filing for divorce is attracting more readers than are various stories on the election (and one about a man putting a puppy in an oven). It was still like that a minute ago. Meantime, Technorati's top searches indicate that more people are searching for "Faith Fill" than for "Exit Polls."

Of course, meaningful results won't really come in until later this evening, so maybe concerned citizens are using celeb junk-news to ease the tension of waiting.
