Government investigation mostly helps Moore, Sicko

Say what you will about the ambivalence Michael Moore's films inspire once you've had time to think about them, but there's no denying he's a master of turning a mess to his advantage in the short run. Along with his lawyer and Harvey Weinstein, Moore responded yesterday to a US Treasury Department investigation into a possibly illegal trip Moore made to Cuba for his new film, Sicko. They said, in sum: a) This is bullshit, and b) Why are you helping us promote this movie? Moore also told the press that "we were going to open this movie quietly" before the investigation began. Which would be the first thing he's done quietly since, say, the womb. (Hollywood Reporter)
