Graceland asks “Can law-enforcement officers from multiple agencies share a house without driving each other crazy?” 

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Thursday, June 6. All times are Eastern.

Graceland (USA, 10 p.m.): USA welcomes a new batch of characters, each of whom is an officer, an agent, or something that fits the USA tradition of welcoming characters—so long as they’re an officer or an agent (or a member of a profession that comes in constant contact with officers or agents). These officers or agents all live together in the same house, and their adventures tend toward a darker territory than those tanned jokers over on Burn Notice—Todd VanDerWerff, who’s neither an officer nor an agent, has high hopes for this one.

Hannibal (NBC, 10 p.m.): Important Wikipedia notes on Eddie Izzard—who returns tonight as Dr. Gideon: “His comedy style takes the form of rambling whimsical monologue and self-referential pantomime.” Which is a crazy coincidence, because Molly Eichel was planning on forming her thoughts on tonight’s episode into a self-referential pantomime!

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (11 a.m.): Worf takes control of a Klingon Bird of Prey—and LeVar Burton takes control of the director’s chair for the seventh time on DS9. In lieu of payment for this week’s review, Zack Handlen will take control of a six-foot party sub.

Gilmore Girls (1 p.m.): Attention ’shippers: Your long, national Dean-mare is near its end. The Age of Jess dawns this afternoon, and David Sims is more than happy to act as your guide to an epoch of enlightenment and bad-ass leather jackets.

Friends (3 p.m.): Plenty of things happen in “The One With The Thumb”—for instance, Chandler struggles to quit smoking, in case you forgot this episode was made in the mid-1990s—but all the important information is right there in the title. Joe Reid and Sonia Saraiya tried to replicate Phoebe’s shocking discovery from that episode, but the grossest thing they found in two dozen cans of pop was 288 ounces of Mug Root Beer.

The Hero/72 Hours (TNT, 8/9 p.m.): In a feat of derring do never before attempted in these digital pages, Will Harris reviews two TNT reality competitions—the former a test of endurance and survival skills hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the latter a test of endurance and survival skills not hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—in a single piece. Will he make it? Find out after this commercial break.

Burn Notice (USA, 9 p.m.): Just when Scott Von Doviak thought he was out, the original USA characters who are agents or officers welcome him back in. For this week—don’t expect another Burn Notice review until the series finale, which could take place in 2015 the way the network schedules this thing.

In The Flesh (BBC America, 10 p.m.): TV Club newcomer Genevieve Valentine takes a look at this BBC miniseries, which sounds a lot like Rectify, only the main character is a zombie and not an accused murderer. Though, in light of Aden Young’s mesmerizing, spaced-out turn in Rectify, maybe not all that different after all.

The Greatest Event In Television History 2 (Adult Swim, 12 a.m.): Thursday-night comedy cutie-cutes Amy Poehler and Adam Scott step into the shoes, skis, parachutes, and ragtime straw boaters of Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers in order to recreate the opening credits sequence from Hart To Hart. As when Scott and Jon Hamm did the same thing with the Simon & Simon intro last year, the hyperbole in this special’s title is entirely warranted.

Sex And The City (E!, 8 p.m.): You could watch E!’s three-hour cut of this follow-up to the HBO favorite—or you could have a better time firing up the ol’ HBO Go and watching six episodes of the series. The choice is yours—as is the three hours.

Bride Of Frankenstein (TCM, 8 p.m.): AHHHH! CHAAAAAAAA! AHHHHHHHHH! (That’s Bride for “Hey, watch this, probably the finest film in the Universal Monster canon.”)

NBA Finals: Game 1: Spurs at Heat (ABC, 9 p.m.): Returning from the brink of elimination, the Heat welcome San Antonio to Miami at the end of a 9-day vacation. The question on everyone’s mind: Will Justin Bieber be in attendance, showing off the latest in all-leather/$450 snapback fashions?

Forever Jones: Young broadcast network BounceTV ventures into original programming with this docuseries about a family gospel act (with promotional consideration paid for by Walmart). Have you heard of this Walmart place? Kevin McFarland hears it sells fantastic steaks.
