Gravity Falls returns with two Stans
Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Monday, July 13. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
Gravity Falls (Disney XD, 8:30 p.m.): Gravity Falls returns tonight, with J.K. Simmons guest-starring to voice Stan’s secret long-lost identical twin brother. Stan has to come clean to Dipper and Mabel about his past. It’s “A Tale Of Two Stans” on Gravity Falls. Twice the Stans; twice the fun! Check back at TV Club after for a review from Alasdair Wilkins.
Also noted
So You Think You Can Dance (Fox, 8 p.m.): As the top 20 perform, Oliver Sava is back on the So You Think You Can Dance beat.
Odd Mom Out (Bravo, 10 p.m.): Officially in too deep with the Von Webers, Jill now has to throw a party for Brooke’s newborn daughter’s debut. At least bodily fluids won’t be involved this time…hopefully.
UnREAL (Lifetime, 10 p.m.): While we’re sort of pretending like last week’s episode of UnREAL didn’t happen, it’s time to deal with its aftermath. Fingers crossed for at least one scene of Quinn and Rachel getting their faces very close to one another.
Regular coverage
WWE Monday Night Raw (USA, 8 p.m.)
Elsewhere in TV Club
The A.V. Club spoke with the Where’s Waldo? of actors, Raphael Sbarge in the latest Random Roles. And in the latest SketcHistory, Steven Shehori breaks down “Compliments” from Inside Amy Schumer’s first season.
What else is on?
The Bachelorette (ABC, 8 p.m.): Kaitlyn finishes up her overnight dates and has to send one of the bachelors home. Then she meets the families of the remaining two bachelors. Hopefully, none of them are birds.
The Whispers (ABC, 10 p.m.): Children continue to be creepy on The Whispers! Wes and the President have to decide what to do with a mysterious rock.
American Ninja Warrior (NBC, 8 p.m.): The top 30 warrior hopefuls from the Venice qualifier take on the Venice Finals course, which includes the Salmon Ladder.
Running Wild With Bear Grylls (NBC, 10 p.m.): The second season returns, with Kate Hudson hiking the Dolomites with Bear.
Starship Troopers (Syfy, 8 p.m.): Who doesn’t love a good ol’ ultraviolent futuristic thriller?!
Edward Scissorhands (IFC, 8 p.m.): Or you could watch Edward Scissorhands instead.
In case you missed it
The Simpsons (Classic): Simpsons reviews so classic they never get old!
