Great job, nature!

It’s easy to forget when you spend your days staring down the World Wide Tubes, but there’s a great big world out there waiting to take your breath away. Luckily for those of us who aren’t ready to spring for that surgery to remove our hands from our keyboards, Boston.com’s The Big Picture blog has compiled 47 of the best photos from National Geographic’s annual photography contest, so you can experience nature’s majesty without having to get up off your ergonomic chair. Once you’re done there, dive in to the National Geographic site, which has eight weeks’ worth of submissions divided into “people,” “places,” and “nature” photos. Consider this the high-def equivalent of the 9Eyes Google Earth photo blog.
