Greetings From Tim Buckley

A little over a year and a half after news hit the Internet that not one but two Jeff Buckley biopics were in the works, the world finally gets to see the trailer for more bootleg of the two. While Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’s Reeve Carney will star in the officially sanctioned film, Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley stars as Buckley in Greetings From Tim Buckley, which gets around not having access to any of Jeff Buckley’s songs by just using the work of his singer-songwriter father. The movie from writer-director Dan Algrant focuses on the junior Buckley’s time in New York prior to his breakout performance at a 1991 tribute to his father. There’s no official release date for Greetings yet, though it did screen to generally positive reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.
