Guardians Of The Galaxy made Teti’s mom want to vomit (and she loved it)

In Mom On Pop, Bonney Teti—mother of A.V. Club senior editor John Teti—shares her unfiltered thoughts on the pop culture of the day.

It’s been more than a decade since Bonney Teti went to the movie theater, but now that she’s a pop-culture podcast star, she has to get out of the house on occasion to keep in touch with her filmgoing public. So she recently ventured to the local bijou, where she took in the summertime Marvel hit Guardians Of The Galaxy. Looking to get her money’s worth, Mom plunked down $14 for the full 3D IMAX experience, and once the film got underway, she nearly lost her lunch on the cinema’s plush stadium seating.

But she managed to hold it together, and in this installment of the podcast, Mom shares her impressions of Guardians’ talking raccoon, its mysterious “infinity ball,” and Chris Pratt’s journey from chunky to hunky. Beyond the Guardians realm, we also talk about the current season of Project Runway, the ongoing train wreck that is Married At First Sight, and the shopping opportunities in America’s movie theater bathrooms.

Mom On Pop is available on iTunes, and there’s a podcast RSS feed if you want to subscribe to the show in other apps. Never miss an episode!
