According to TMZ, Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane has been released from prison four months earlier than expected. Mane was arrested in 2013 for possession of a firearm—a violation of his probation—and he took a plea deal that initially placed the date of his release in September. However, the TMZ report says that Mane’s lawyer filed a motion that his client “hadn’t received credit for previous time served,” and that evidently seems to have worked out in Mane’s favor. He’ll now be on house arrest “for a few months,” and after that he’ll be back on probation. Also, for people who care about love, TMZ also says that Mane’e girlfriend, Keyshia Ka’oir, posted a picture on Snapchat of two people holding hands behind the word “Reunited,” so it seems like the two of them are back together—unless it’s just a coincidentally touching social media post.
Anyway, given Mane’s house arrest, it’s unclear when he’ll be able to return to the rap game in earnest, but it probably won’t take long.
