Guess how Disney's appalling me today?

I'm an animation buff. I love Disney's classic animated movies. But there are hazards to watching them on DVD. Primarily because they're all front-loaded with trailers for past and future Disney projects, and if you aren't careful, you could suddenly find yourself watching a trailer for a film like this. Yes, I know the entire world was breathlessly wondering where Disney could possibly take the ever-growing Air Bud franchise from here. Answer: Puppies! Puppies! Puppies! Oy.

In other Disney news, everyone who's surprised to see Disney artists proudly touting their return to cel animation raise your hand. And then smack that hand with your other hand. Granted, this isn't an official press release – but what's the likelihood that when the film nears theaters, Disney won't take this "return to the classic Disney you know and love!" line? It's irresistable publicity. And yeah, it's also manipulative and hypocritical, but public relations has never been about allowing shame to get in the way of a little positive press. Any bets on how long until we see Disney touting a new full-scale cel-animation film, or at least a CGI film made in their classical visual style?
