Guided By Voices' "classic" lineup will release its first album since '96 on New Year's Day

The "classic" mid-'90s lineup of Guided By Voices—the one with Tobin Sprout, Mitch Mitchell, Kevin Fennell, the striped pants-wearing dervish Greg Demos, and of course Robert Pollard—has been touring for a year, supposedly wrapping up its reunion jaunt earlier this month at the Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh, N.C. But the band has at least one more trick to pull before it wanders off into the sunset: A new album, Let's Go Eat The Factory, is set for release on Jan. 1, 2012.
