Guided By Voices to play its second (presumably final) farewell show in September

Robert Pollard first officially retired the Guided By Voices moniker with a marathon show in Chicago on New Year's Eve 2004. Six years later, GBV returned from the grave in its "classic line-up" configuration from the mid-'90s, and has been touring off and on ever since. But now Pollard is putting GBV back to bed this fall, with a performance Sept. 9 at the Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh that will also feature Drive-By Truckers, The Dodos, and 1.2 million plastic cups filled with beer.
