Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Beyoncé, Andy Samberg, and Ryan Murphy are making a musical together
Ryan Murphy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, and Cameron Diaz recently all got together over a hearty meal of flaxseed and silk, and along with helping them poop out shawls for their servants, the dinner also produced the idea for a movie musical called One Hit Wonders. Murphy will direct from a script by his Glee collaborators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, with Paltrow, Witherspoon, and Diaz starring as three faded ‘90s pop stars who form a supergroup as a means for a comeback—sort of like when Tracy Bonham, Joan Osborne, and Rozalla got together for a band that played the state fair in our mind. (They sucked.) Rounding out the ensemble and making for a sentence you probably won’t ever read again, Beyoncé is also expected to star alongside Andy Samberg, whose The Lonely Island will write some of the music for these ladies to sing, which sounds about right. Again, this was all conceived—and then sold within 10 minutes to Sony—at a single dinner with friends. At our dinners with friends, we can barely split the check properly, which just goes to show the debilitating effects of eating food.
