Veep (HBO, 10:30 p.m.)

Farscape (11 a.m.): TV Club Classic’s summer 2014 lineup begins in earnest, and Alasdair Wilkins begins working his way through the final seasons of Farscape, seasons that require far less sunscreen than the average summer.

The Simpsons (Classic) (3 p.m.): Erik Adams goes to court to defend claims that he is the creator of such classic Itchy & Scratchy characters like Brown-Nose Bear, Rich Uncle Skeleton, and Dinner Dog. Particularly Rich Uncle Skeleton, because that idea cracks him right up.

Russian Yeti: The Killer Lives (Discovery, 8 p.m.): What’s On Tonight regards this special with Mermaids: The Body Found-like skepticism until this so-called Russian yeti proves its national allegiances by letting whoever ordered this know that YOUR FACE is a present from the yeti to them. Show them YOUR FACE—show it to them!

Return To Amish (TLC, 8 p.m.): Cable’s most numbing, second-most-fake Amish show (after Amish Mafia) gets back to its roots. Its boring, boring roots.

Food Network Star (Food, 9 p.m.): A fresh batch of Fieris are prepped for the Fieri-ing.

The Peabody Awards (Pivot, 9 p.m.): Pivot, the first network for millennials, will telecast The George Foster Peabody Awards every year through 2016. Be sure to Instagram your reaction to Tom Brokaw’s big win.

The Little Mermaid (ABC Family, 7:15 p.m.): For a more believable story concerning mythical creatures, here’s an animated retelling of a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale in a which a fish woman has her voice stolen by a half-witch, half-octopus lady.

Bringing Up Baby (TCM, 7 p.m.): You might think Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler are the big screen’s greatest paleontology love story—but you’d be forgetting Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn in this film, the finest screwball comedy ever written about the intercoastal clavicle of a brontosaurus (an animal that did not exist, but is still more real than the Russian Yeti).

MLB Baseball: Pirates at Dodgers (ESPN 2, 8 p.m.): With the Clippers out of the NBA playoffs and the Kings’ Stanley Cup hopes dangling by a string (depending on what happened Friday night), it’s up to the Dodgers to restore the hope of troubled Angelenos. Good thing they’re playing the Pirates tonight.

HBO supporting MVP Kevin Dunn does Random Roles. Yes, yes: Transformers’ Kevin Dunn. But! Also! Veep, True Detective, and Luck’s Kevin Dunn.

Orphan Black (Saturday): Let’s be honest for a second: You didn’t miss Orphan Black, because Orphan Black is pretty much TV Club’s last Friday/Saturday show standing. Caroline Framke may have missed Orphan Black, but newcomer Kayla Upadhyaya stepped in, making sure that TV Club didn’t miss Orphan Black.
