A second pilot and additional scripts have been ordered for Rob Schneider’s still-untitled sitcom, which is based on the actor’s real-life experiences with marrying into a totally wacky Mexican-American family, and then realizing that white people do things like this and Mexicans do things like thees, ha ha. The healing power of laughter could be applied as a salve to immigration-fueled tensions by mid-season, provided that CBS can find a new supporting cast for Schneider to play off of, as reportedly both the concept and Schneider “tested very well.” And in the meantime here we sit, no closer to multicultural understanding.
