Hank Williams Jr. has a well-reasoned, not-at-all-reactionary new song about the Monday Night Football controversy

As part of his continuing efforts to ensure that nobody ever confuses him with Hank Williams Sr., Hank Williams Jr. released a new song last night that addresses the recent controversy involving three things every American cares about: golfing, Hitler, and Monday Night Football. The song is called “Keep The Change,” and it’s an inspiring anthem calling for everybody to forget their petty differences and work together, because that’s the only way we’re going to solve this economic mess we’re in, right? Ha, just kidding—“Keep The Change” is a call to arms against the “United Socialist States of America,” with Bocephus courageously defending all of the bedrock American principles that aren’t really being threatened. “I’ll keep my freedom, I’ll keep my guns, try to keep my money, and my religion, too,” sings Williams at the start, over a boilerplate southern-rock backing. Later, he dissects the MNF issue with similar incisiveness: "So 'Fox & Friends' want to put me down/Ask for my opinion/Twist it all around/Supposed to be talking about my father’s new CD/Well two can play that gotcha game."
