Hannibal Buress to hit the gym in Spider-Man: Homecoming
While director Jon Watts has been keeping a tight lid on casting news for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Cinemablend reports that Hannibal Buress has let slip that he’s playing Spider-Man’s gym teacher. “I play one of the dumbass characters that don’t realize he’s Spider-Man,” the comedian and Broad City actor told New York radio station Power 105.
Buress joins an impressive slate of character actors that also includes Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Bokeem Woodbine, American Crime Story’s Kenneth Choi, Orange Is The New Black’s Michael Chernus, and Disney Channel veteran Zendaya, as well as returning Civil War alumni Robert Downey Jr. and Marisa Tomei, for a movie that will help people win games of “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” for years to come. According to Cinemablend, Michael Keaton is also on board to play villain The Vulture, after months of conflicting reports.
