Happy Halloween, have a new Slipknot video

As the ghosts and goblins prowl the planet tonight, it can be tricky to know how, exactly, to soundtrack their various spookums and scareifications. Sure, there’s “Monster Mash” and “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah”—or even our lovingly crafted Power Hour of great Halloween music—but what if you’ve already heard all of those, and need some new shit to get really creeped out to, right this second?

Fret not, novelty seekers: Slipknot is here for you, as it is in so many of life’s most perilous moments. Iowa’s most brutal horror metal band took some time out from their busy days of arguing with Nickelback to unleash a new song and video on the world tonight, just in time for the Great Pumpkin to arrive. Titled “All Out Life,” the song is being described by the band as “a rallying cry for everyone,” and by most other people as “Yep, that sure is a Slipknot song.” The accompanying video is suitably creepy, at least, as a bunch of weirdos in mask run around, dousing each other with the old blood hose like it’s some sort of lazy, blood-summer day.

In a press release describing the song, band member Clown issued a note of typically Slipknottian positivity, noting, “Right now is a very exciting time for Slipknot,” which, fuck, yes, we’ve been saying that for years. “It’s a fitting taste to get you to the next thing,” he added. “Get ready for what’s to come. We challenge you to All Out Life.”

Thank you, professional lifecoach Clown, from Slipknot. We needed that tonight.
