ABC is pulling Twin Peaks wannabe Happy Town after an IED bomb of a premiere (despite some kind thoughts from our own Todd VanDerWerff) and a significant ratings drop-off with its second episode. No, this is not a marketing technique designed to drum up anticipation. According to Deadline, tomorrow night’s third episode will run as scheduled, with Primetime: What Would You Do? and a telecast of Transformers scheduled for the following two weeks. Happy Town will return June 2 and air its remaining five episodes, concluding June 30, unless ABC pulls the plug even sooner. Unfortunately we’ll probably never find out what the hell was up with Sam Neill’s character.
