Harrison Ford is now America’s highest-grossing actor of all time

When most people hit their 70s, they’re just thrilled if they can show up to the septuagenarian party a halfway graceful fashion. Harrison Ford prefers to crash land his way in, though, something that shouldn’t come as a surprise given his well-established penchant for not giving a fuck. Speaking of the absence of fucks given, here’s some news Ford won’t give a shit about: Digital Spy reports that the actor has just become the highest-grossing actor of all time at the U.S. box office. With Star Wars: The Force Awakens still vacuuming Americans’ wallets on the highest setting, Ford’s total has reached $4.7 billion, moving him past Samuel L. Jackson’s $4.6 billion gross.

Rounding out the top five are Tom Hanks ($4.3 billion), Morgan Freeman ($4.3 billion), and Eddie Murphy ($3.8 billion). It’s worth noting that a female doesn’t show up until Cameron Diaz at number 15 ($3 billion), so let that feed your perception of Hollywood’s gender imbalance as you will. That figure is probably more interesting to Ford than his position at the top, so if you happen to come across him in the friendly skies, lead with that angle. Mention his No. 1 spot and he’ll probably treat you the same way he treated Gary Oldman on Air Force One.
