Autopsy results have determined that underground comics icon and American Splendor creator Harvey Pekar died from an unintentional overdose of antidepressants, according to findings released today by the Cuyahoga County coroner’s office—run, oddly enough, by a man named Frank Miller. Pekar was taking the prescribed medications Prozac and bupropion (also known as Wellbutrin or Zyban), and his July 12 death has been ruled accidental.
