Hasbro declares war on boys by announcing female Transformers team

Brazenly ignoring that fact that girls only want to play with tea sets and their “Inept Software Developer” Barbies, Hasbro has done the unthinkable and created a female Transformer. Cinema Blend is reporting that “Victorion” is the result of a survey asking for more diversity from Hasbro’s line of toys that have traditionally self-identified as being man robots. Victorion is actually an assemblage of “combiner” Autobots, like the Decepticon’s Devastator, so instead of just one, there will be a whole gang of icky girl-bots taking space on toy shelves from poor, helpless male transformers.

Senior Manager of the Transformers toy line and obvious boy-hater Sarah Carroll explains that each of Hasbro’s female Transformers will have distinctive personalities. “Our female characters really do have faults,” Carroll says, likely alluding to the flaw of being a robot and a girl. “They have things that they aren’t necessarily always good at and they have things they’re trying to overcome, and that makes them real people with a real drive.”

Despite the fact that there are already several female characters in the Transformers universe, and even though Michael Bay cast an android for the female lead in his big screen adaptation, Victorion and her team represents a more conscious effort to appeal to the toy line’s growing female fan base. Victorion and her crew of ladybots will threaten the Transformers universe, imperil the self-esteem of little boys, and possibly herald the downfall of Western civilization when they arrive in the Transformers: Combiner Hunters comic book series and on toy store shelves this summer.
