Olivier Assayas’ Personal Shopper is a fascinating curiosity: a ghost story that’s also a leisurely character study, a cosmopolitan mood piece, and a late-breaking stalker thriller. It works best, though, as a showcase for Kristen Stewart and her nuanced body language—proof, again, that she’s a much better actress than the Twilight series ever allowed her to be.
