HBO developing one-hour drama about the porn industry

Bolstered by Entourage’s recent creative rebirth as a showcase for Sasha Grey getting butt-naked, HBO is currently developing a Mark Wahlberg-produced show about the porn industry—and who better to address a business built on delusion than author James Frey (whom the New York Post charitably calls “controversial,” which is a nice way of saying he was busted for lying but still makes bank anyway)? The one-hour drama reportedly “will focus on a giant video company under siege from Internet competitors and a girl from the Midwest whose boyfriend convinces her to move to Los Angeles to become a star,” and will feature “both legit actors and real porn performers.” (So, come for the jerk-off material, stay for the nuanced characterization.) Frey also promises that the show will “tell the type of stories no one else has told before, and go places no one has gone before,” which is your cue to make an anal-sex joke.
