HBO gives David Milch another show

Despite the piss-poor reception given his recently cancelled John From Cincinnati, HBO has signed up David Milch to develop yet another new show. Sources indicate that it will return the former Hill Street Blues scribe to familiar territory, concerning a Vietnam veteran who returns to the U.S. in the early 1970s and joins the New York City police force. In Milch's own words, the protagonist is a man who was "recruited as a soldier while he was overseas, to come back as a disaffected veteran and infiltrate the antiwar movement, as a shortcut into the New York City police force as a detective." No word yet on whether every character will speak in a protracted iambic pentameter or if the story will make any fucking sense.
