Years ago, before Veep had actually begun airing its final episodes, series creator Amrando Iannuci began developing a new project for HBO called Avenue 5. At the time, all we knew was that it would be a “comedy set on a spaceship,” which is a concept that’s pretty far removed from the relatively grounded nature of Veep. Now, though, HBO has ordered Avenue 5 to series, meaning with both know more about it and who will actually star in it. According to Variety, the show is a “space tourism comedy” set in a future where “the solar system is everyone’s oyster.” Hugh Laurie will star as the captain of a space cruise ship called Avenue 5, with Josh Gad, Zach Woods, Nikki Amuka, Rebecca Front, Lenora Crichlow, Suzy Nakamura, and Ethan Phillips also appearing. Iannucci directed the pilot and will stay on as an executive producer.

That’s about all we know about Avenue 5, but if everything else Iannucci has worked on is any indications, we can assume it will have some fun use of bad words—but this time in spaaace.
