HBO hackers leak Game Of Thrones stars’ phone numbers and emails
The fallout from the recent security breach at HBO at the hands of anonymous hackers just keeps getting worse, as The Guardian reports that the personal email addresses and phone numbers of cast members on the network’s hit series Game Of Thrones have been released as part of the newest data dump. (The Verge additionally reports that home addresses were part of the leak.) The information apparently came from the confidential cast list for the show, which was one of the documents hackers released online last night that also reportedly includes “a detailed summary” of next week’s episode.
Calling themselves “Mr. Smith,” the hacker or hackers claimed that they make $12 million to $15 million a year through hacking-related blackmail in a video message directly aimed at HBO CEO Richard Plepler, and demanded that HBO pay them “our six-month salary in bitcoin” within three days. Actors affected by the leaked information reportedly include the entire cast of Game Of Thrones season seven, including Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, and Emilia Clarke.
