HBO is breaking up with Togetherness

Citing both “persistent low ratings” and “it being too nice out to feel so bummed all the time,” HBO has announced that it’s breaking things off with Togetherness. The Mark and Jay Duplass-produced series will end after its second season—currently set to finish up on April 10, presumably in an orgy of awkward discomfort and depression.

But even though it’s stepping down its relationship with the Duplassi, HBO insisted it still wants to stay friends. “We look forward to continuing our strong creative collaboration with the talented Jay and Mark Duplass,” the network—which has an ongoing deal with the pair that includes the animated series Animals—wrote in a statement. (Meanwhile, HBO’s expected to be hooking up with its on-again, off-again bad boy, Game Of Thrones, some time next month, so Togetherness might want to get all its stuff moved out before GoT gets back into town.)
