HBO releases EP featuring Westworld versions of Radiohead, The Cure, and more

Though it may not be as exciting as some of the show’s more violent delights, the music on HBO’s Westworld is definitely a pretty rad addition to its whole sci-fi/western aesthetic. Not only does it have a fairly hummable theme song, but it has also sporadically featured Westworld-y covers of popular songs like The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” and a player piano version of “Black Hole Sun” that help underline the artificiality of the robot-filled cowboy theme park that the show revolves around. Now, after a month or so of fans thinking to themselves about how cool it would be if HBO were to actually release those songs, the network has decided to actually release those songs as part of a Westworld EP.

The collection features Westworld composer Ramin Djawadi—who also scores Game Of Thrones—performing the show’s theme, as well as the Cure’s “A Forest,” Radiohead’s “No Surprises,” and the aforementioned versions of “Black Hole Sun” and “Paint It Black.” It’s available now on iTunes, so you can download it right away and use it as your own personal soundtrack while you search for that mythical maze at the center of everything.
