HBO has renewed Boardwalk Empire for another season, the network announced today, completely spoiling the cliffhanger of whether or not America existed past the 1924. Indeed it did, as it turns out, and there were still gangsters, and meetings those gangsters were clearly annoyed at having to attend, and other things that so defined the Roaring Twenties. Obviously it’s too soon to say what that fifth season will be about, but as always it probably pays to look at The Facts Of Life model. In that case, we can predict that Nucky will open his own baked goods shop, Nucky’s Nibbles, Richard will pledge a sorority, and all the gangsters will learn that life is about taking the good and the bad. You take them both, and there you have Prohibition.
