HBO renews How To Make It In America for a second season, most likely while giving a noncommittal shrug and saying, "Eh, it's not terrible"

Perhaps because they already have cameras in New York, so it’s no bother really, or they just enjoy wasting Luis Guzmán’s time, HBO has renewed its Horatio Alger-meets-NYLON-magazine epic How To Make It In America for a second season. The show, for the uninitiated, teaches everyone not currently living in New York how they could, conceivably, make it in New York if only they could do something about their abs and then come up with the money to afford a badass loft, a blueprint for Brooklynite success that includes lessons such as, “When the burden of figuring out how to make it in America gets you down, simply attend one of your photographer/gallery owner/media something-or-other executive friend’s fabulous late-night parties, where you will surely meet the exact powerful person who can help you.” How recently concluded its eight-episode run without overtly insulting anyone, so as a reward it gets to come back next year, most likely in summer 2011. Fans will just have to wait until then to see resolutions to unanswered questions like, “Will Cam and Ben get their line of vintage jeans off the ground?” and “Who the fuck are Cam and Ben, and why should I care about anyone’s line of vintage jeans?”
