HBO trying to limit Game Of Thrones premiere piracy with preview weekend

Proving once again just how cool it is, HBO has decided not to leave Game Of Thrones fans who aren’t currently HBO fans, i.e., subscribers, twisting in the wind for the show’s imminent return. Instead of clucking its tongue over the inevitable record-shattering piracy numbers, the pay-cable network has decided to offer cable/satellite customers a preview weekend that includes not only the premiere of its highest-rated show, but also the return of Veep and Silicon Valley.

Other notable viewing content includes the forthcoming release of Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” video, which is slated to debut Saturday on HBO. You can also catch the “meticulous” drama of the recently released Confirmation, starring Wendell Pierce and Kerry Washington, or the latest episode of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. But if you’re worried that this leaves too wide a gap between the programs you really want to see, HBO’s also offering access to Cinemax, which you can use to check out season four of Banshee in between repeat airings of Magic Mike XXL.
