It’s a bit of hyperbole to say that everything Dan Boeckner touches turns to musical gold, but the dude has been part of some amazing bands in his career, including Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, and Divine Fits—that last one a collaboration with Spoon’s Britt Daniel that yielded one of the best records of 2012. Now Boeckner has sorta quietly launched Operators, which released a debut EP about a month ago and has played a handful of live shows. This outfit tweaks Boeckner’s analog-synth love, with dancey but not obnoxious grooves. (In truth, it sounds like Wolf Parade’s synthier moments.)
