Hear a searing new song by United Nations, fronted by Thursday’s Geoff Rickly
United Nations—a post-hardcore supergroup formed by Thursday singer Geoff Rickly, Converge drummer Ben Koller, and Glassjaw frontman Daryl Palumbo—has remained a mysterious presence since its inception in 2005, partly due to the contractual obligations of its various members and partly because, well, the real United Nations got pissed at them for using the name. Finally, the shadowy outfit’s current lineup, which now includes members of screamo skin-peelers Pianos Become The Teeth, has recorded its debut full-length. Titled The Next Four Years (with a nod toward Black Flag’s The First Four Years), the album revives the harrowing angst and politically-charged rage of forbears like Nation Of Ulysses and Refused, as heard on the searing track “Meanwhile On Main Street” (which is being debuted here). If this is what the next four years will be like, get a hard hat.
The Next Four Years will be released July 15 via Temporary Residence Ltd.
