Hear the first single from Mick Jagger's new "supergroup"
When word came a few months ago that Mick Jagger had formed a new group with Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Damien Marley, and composer A.R. Rahman, the project was described in terms that created more questions than answers. At the time, Jagger called the music “very wide-ranging—from reggae to ballads to Indian songs in Urdu,” which seemed like another way of saying “it sounds like music.” Now that the group’s first song “Miracle Worker” has been released for public consumption, the SuperHeavy sound is a little more concrete. On this track, at least, SuperHeavy is an MOR reggae-pop band. If that sounds enticing to you, you can check out the song here, or the curiously cheesy and cheap-looking promo video below. The album is due in September.
