Becky Stark made her debut as Lavender Diamond with 2007's Imagine Our Love, which was released that year—after fervent label interest—on Matador alongside a reissue of The Calvary Of Light EP (which features the most excellent single “You Broke My Heart”). Since that wave-making debut, Stark has toured with The Decemberists and She & Him, appeared in movies with Harry Shearer and Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, and cut a 7-inch with John C. Reilly for Jack White’s Third Man label. She’s obviously been a little busy, so it’s understandable that she’s only just now about to release her second record, Incorruptible Heart, on Sept. 25 for OK Go’s label, Paracadute. Below The A.V. Club premieres a new song from that record, the slow-building, organ-driven “Everybody’s Heart’s Breaking Now,"which finds Stark at her melodramatic best.
