Having formed from the ashes of Big Kids, Oakland’s Acid Fast quickly carved its own place among the increasingly crowded crop of bands that reference indie-pop of the early ’90s. Its debut was packed full of buzzing guitars and sing-along anthems, making it an under-appreciated record in its release year. Thankfully, that hasn’t deterred Acid Fast from returning with Last Night On Earth, its sophomore album that’s due to be released jointly by Salinas Records and Stupid Bag Records. The A.V. Club is premiering “Just Grin” below, a track that sees the band taking another step forward from its self-titled debut. It piles the hooks on thick, making for a track that proves all those smiles aren’t just a facade.
