“Hello (Steve Aoki Remix)” is the aural equivalent of a quick punch in the neck

There have been a ton of funny takes on Adele’s “Hello” already, but none are quite as insane or off-kilter as “Hello (Steve Aoki Remix),” a clip that has surfaced online courtesy of comedian Joe Pera. A jarring mashup that abruptly smashes together “Hello” and the Vengaboys’ “We Like To Party” and then accents it with what seems to be the sound of rain falling into an empty bucket, “Hello (Steve Aoki Remix)” is about as soothing as a pop-up ad playing loudly in an unknown web tab. It’s the aural equivalent to a quick slap in the face right when you wake up.
