Hellraiser remake will (probably) not be teen-oriented after all
Those earlier reports that The Weinstein Company was planning a PG-13, teen-friendly remake of Hellraiser appear to have been either misdirection or quickly scrapped after the Internet lost its collective shit (probably the first one), as Variety is now reporting that director Patrick Lussier and screenwriter Todd Farmer have been hired to direct a presumably more “adult” update. So far it has not been decided whether Doug Bradley (now age 56) will squeeze into his Pinhead leathers again. Farmer and Lussier have worked together on this sort of thing before, on the 2009 3D remake of My Bloody Valentine, so… yay? The duo also most recently collaborated on Drive Angry 3D and prepped a Halloween 3D that never took off, so we think you know where this is going. (Musical.)
