Who he is: Helmut Zemo
His power: Unless you consider a burning desire for revenge to be some sort of power, he’s got nothin’.
His story: Helmut Zemo is a Sokovian citizen whose family was killed during the events at the end of Avengers: Age Of Ultron. His plan for revenge becomes the driving narrative of Captain America: Civil War, as he becomes a terrorist and frames The Winter Soldier for an explosion at the United Nations which takes the life of T’Chaka, father of T’Challa, the Black Panther. The caused the rift in the Avengers to develop, leading to Captain America’s defection from the team and subsequent struggle between the two groups of heroes. Zemo then orchestrated the arrival of Iron Man, Winter Soldier, and Captain America at a former Hydra base, where the terrorist revealed to Tony Stark that his parents had been killed by the Winter Soldier, triggering a battle and fracture between Rogers and Stark. Zemo tries to commit suicide following the completion of his plan but is stopped by Black Panther, and arrested.
