Help Chunklet publish The Indie Cred Test

Our brethren in being uncool over at Chunklet have recently completed their third book, The Indie Cred Test, a sprawling, satirical standardized exam that will help readers determine their own “cred” as it relates to the “underground culture” that sustains some and angers others for vaguely defined reasons, many of which have to do with clothing and a handful of arbitrarily chosen bands they don’t like. As with everything Chunklet does, it’s all tongue-in-cheek (“Or is it?” the release wonders, which is itself tongue-in-cheek) and a labor of love—and that’s truer than ever since the Atlanta-based magazine is attempting to self-publish it through reader donations.

To accomplish that, it’s set up a website through Kickstarter that allows you to give as well as receive: Sure, you could just buy the book for $15, but if you’re willing to pledge a little more, you can also get a limited-edition 7-inch from Fucked Up created exclusively for this release, as well as T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, and even a “Thank You” credit in the book. Go here to donate and check out a videotaped plea from Chunklet founder Henry Owings. So far they’ve amassed over $15,000 in donations, leaving them just a little short of their $17,500 goal. So hop to it. Your cred is on the line.
