Hendrix family sues over vodka
Jimi Hendrix's family—also known as the Experience Hendrix company, or Jimi Hendrix's estate—have sued the makers of Hendrix Electric Vodka—who hang at the House Of Hendrix (confused yet?)—for using Jimi's name and image without their permission. In an Associated Press report, though, the makers of the vodka respond that the family doesn't own the rights to Hendrix's image. Hendrix's adopted sister Janie tells the AP that she considers the vodka a "sick joke," because booze contributed to his early death. Oddly enough, the businessman who owns the company that makes the vodka is based in Seattle, Hendrix's birthplace.
