What’s old is new again in the world of Kryptonian semen: Almost 20 years after Kevin Smith raised the question in Mallrats of just how powerful Superman’s orgasm would be, current Man Of Steel Henry Cavill has resurrected the debate in an interview with Cosmopolitan. It’s not known at this time just how close to the food court Cavill was when discussing the matter, but we hope there were no chocolate-covered pretzels involved.
Cavill is still out stumping for The Man From U.N.C.L.E., but he’s been fielding just as many questions about Superman for some reason. As is its wont, Cosmopolitan cut right to the heart of the matter and asked Cavill to choose the best mate for Superman—Lois Lane or Wonder Woman. Cavill began by saying such a decision requires a “very long discussion,” but based on his answer, he wasn’t thinking about work schedules and common interests.
Rather than consider things like mortality and the pressures of saving the world (even if it’s via muckraking), Cavill took a cue from a Jason Lee character and euphemized about super-sex and super-loads, saying “Yes, the goddess [Wonder Woman] can do all the normal things, which we would think are normal in a relationship, and not have any fear of Superman.” If you don’t recall the food court-adjacent conversation between Lee’s Brodie and Jason London’s T.S., here’s a refresher:
Two decades later and Wonder Woman’s womb strength is still being debated—though not in a feature film, of course. But Smith is reportedly working on MallBrats, so he could answer this question once and for all in the sequel. As for Cavill, he has yet to share his thoughts on Kryptonite condoms.
