Here are some details on Judy Blume’s first adult book in 15 years
A few details have finally been released on Judy Blume’s first adult book in more than 15 years. Publisher Alfred A. Knopf announced this past June that Judy Blume, an author beloved by preteens for more than four decades, was working on the book. But it didn’t tease any details, knowing that four generations of former children would happily buy anything with Blume’s name on it. In an announcement by Knopf Doubleday, Blume said of the plane crashes, “It was a crazy time. We were witnessing things that were incomprehensible to us as teenagers. Was it sabotage? An alien invasion? No one knew, and people were understandably terrified.” The book will examine the lives of people affected directly and indirectly by those events, and it looks like it will address many of the issues that earned Blume the devotion of so many teenagers: “first love, estranged parents, difficult friendships, familial obligations, divorce.” Blume teased the cover on Twitter yesterday:
