Here are some photos taken by astronauts that look like shots from Gravity

After sweeping through the technical awards at this year’s Oscars, Gravity has established itself as the prettiest movie of 2013. NASA, perhaps irritated by the film’s questionable scientific accuracy, has stuck it to Alfonso Cuarón and company by curating a collection of photos taken by actual astronauts that resemble shots from the movie, proving that anything Cuarón can do in the studio, they can do in their floating sky palace, so why doesn’t he just blast up there and violate the laws of physics to their face?

It’s unclear whether the NASA photographs were already taken and just happened to resemble stills from Gravity, or whether the astronauts got bored floating around one day and decided to pass the time by recreating shots from the movie. The full set is available on the flickr page for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
