As 2013 comes to a close, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences continues to winnow the list of potential nominees for select categories. The Academy already put forth a list of the 19 animated films up for consideration back in early November. Now it's released a shortlist of 15 films eligible for nomination in the Best Documentary Feature category, which were culled by a preliminary vote down from 147 eligible contenders. Included are a wide range of films, from The Act Of Killing and Blackfish to 20 Feet From Stardom and Sarah Polley’s Stories We Tell (which has already won awards from the New York Film Critics Circle and the National Board of Review).
