After the triple shrug of Cars 2, Brave, and Monsters University, Pixar managed to erase some of the ill will that had begun developing among fans with the lovely Inside-Out. Now the animation dynasty is hoping that The Good Dinosaur, hitting theaters this November, will prove that John Lasseter and company have really gotten their groove back.
However, if that film’s odd combination of nearly photo-realistic environments and overtly cartoonish dinosaurs gives you pause, maybe Pixar can convince you to buy a $15 ticket to see Sanjay’s Super Team, the animated short that will appear before The Good Dinosaur. To whet your appetite for the short, Pixar has released a clip, which at a mere 38 seconds doesn’t show very much, but it also packs enough energy and effective non-verbal storytelling to convince us that it’s going to be a hell of a lot better than Lava.
Sanjay’s Super Team will hit theaters on November 25, and you might as well stay for The Good Dinosaur, if only to finish your Milk Duds.
