Here’s a hard-hitting trailer for Viceland, Vice’s hard-hitting TV channel

Most TV networks don’t really have the cred to justify a dramatic nine-minute trailer promoting their new shows, but Viceland isn’t like most networks. It’s the new channel from Vice that’s replacing H2, and much like Vice’s website, it looks like the network is going to be all about hard-hitting investigations into interesting cultures, combined with some stuff about food and pot. This trailer cycles through a ton of different shows in its nine minutes, with the highlights including Ellen Page nervously interviewing a guy who openly admits to murdering people for being gay, Michael K. Williams embedding himself into a car theft ring, a philosophical discussion with a robot, and also some stuff about food and pot. (Not to diminish the stuff about food and pot, of course, because the clip of the guy telling his mom about his weed-based TV show is pretty funny.)

Viceland is set to launch in February.
