Here’s a look at how Agent Carter’s visual effects come to life
One of Agent Carter’s many charms is the production team’s commitment to its 1940s setting, from the costumes and sets to the extensive but often subtle computer graphics work. (Sure, it’s a 1946 where nobody smokes, but go ahead and blame Kang for that.) One of the reasons Carter looks so good is that award-winning effects house Industrial Light & Magic is responsible for its CGI, as this video from Wired DesignFX explains. Surprisingly, the biggest challenge for Carter’s visual effects team was not a limited TV budget, but rather the breakneck pace of the typical television production schedule. Still, the end results are impressive, especially considering the sometimes tacky effects of Carter’s parent show, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
