Here’s a new song from Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Dan “The Automator” Nakamura

Got A Girl, the collaborative project between actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Dan “The Automator” Nakamura, might seem like it came out of nowhere, but it really didn’t. The pair crossed paths working on 2010’s Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, with the pair discovering they were both influenced by ‘60s French pop, girl group soul, and lush arrangements. The two started writing together, with Nakamura’s beats and instrumentation becoming a lovely base for Winstead’s breezy vocals.

Below, A.V. Club readers can get an exclusive listen to “There’s A Revolution,” the new single off the pair’s new LP, I Love You But I Must Drive Off This Cliff Now, out July 22 on Bulk Recordings. It’s an airy confection, pure, sweet, and perfect for summer.
